How
It Works
Everything on this site can be touched. Nothing here breaks. This is what each part does, and how to play with it, if you want to know.
Pull
Four strands, twisted into one rope: data, images, physical making and research. Grab a strand and pull it. It stretches and springs back.
Turn on Pour in the menu and hold on a strand: a drop of colour wells up where you press and spreads along it.
Keyboard: Tab to a place, Enter to open it.
deek
Deek is North East for a look. Press it and the page peels back to show a whole other world underneath. Press again for the next one, and the next.
Back takes you home the same way you came.
Licorish
Make It Yours
The round button in the corner opens the menu. Change the glass, the material and the colours. Slow it down, speed it up, or let the words drift.
Too much? Turn It All Off, or choose Plain Page and keep only the words. Return to Default puts everything back.
Take One With You
Pom, Node and Splosh each live in their own world. Choose one there and it comes with you, onto every page.
Pick it up and carry it. Throw it and it bounces. Pom has moods of its own, and it notices when you switch everything off.
At Your Pace
Every world has the same pills at the top: Back to Hub on the left, Pause Motion and Sound on the right. Pause Motion stops everything moving, on every page. If your device asks for less motion, the site already listens. Sound stays off until you turn it on.
Everything works with a keyboard: Tab moves between things, Space and Enter press them, the arrow keys move what can be moved, Esc closes.
Not Everything Is Signposted
Some things are only found by poking around. Keep looking.
